A not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to supporting foreign-trained lawyers and facilitating their professional integration into the United States legal environment.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The Foreign Trained Lawyers Association was established to address the professional, academic, structural, and practical challenges faced by lawyers educated outside the United States, while also fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional development among U.S.-trained JD attorneys and the broader legal community. The Organization supports the integration of diverse legal backgrounds within the U.S. legal system and promotes sustainable legal careers through education, mentorship, networking, and cross-jurisdictional engagement.
Membership Application
The Foreign Trained Lawyers Association welcomes foreign-trained lawyers and individuals who are planning to pursue legal education or professional opportunities in the United States. U.S. legal education is not required to apply.
By indicating the country where you received your primary legal education, you will be automatically affiliated with the corresponding Country Chapter of the Foreign Trained Lawyers Association. Applicants do not select Country Chapters manually.
Participation in a Working Group is required.
All applications are subject to review and approval. Membership becomes effective only after approval and payment of the annual subscription fee.
